Lonnie Jackson was obviously a big surprise in last night's game. I've always seen him as a bit of a role player, a guy who could make open shots and pull a defender away from Clifford, Daniels, and Anderson, but last night he nearly led the team in points, proving that he has the capability to put this team on his shoulders if need be. Matt Humphrey quietly had a wonderful night as well, going 3-6 from the field, including 2-4 from behind the arc. This is the kind of efficient performance we've been looking for from Humphrey.
The team also played solid defense last night. Although Clemson's field goal percentage was higher than what we would ideally like to see, the Tigers did have twice as many turnovers as assists. The Eagles had an identical 1:2 ratio, but team defense allowed the Baby Eagles to overcome their usual mistakes on the offensive end.
This win, while impressive, doesn't change my prediction that the Eagles win walk away with two ACC wins this year, but it will be interesting to see if the Eagles can duplicate this effort on Saturday against Virginia Tech.
good win. teh team still needs more atheltic players to move to the next level
